ENME 5445 - Introduction to Microfluidics

Review of fundamentals of fluid mechanics; Introduction to micro-scale liquid flows; Electrokinetic transport phenomena and their microfluidic applications; Theoretical models for various electrokinetic phenomena and transport processes in microfluidics applications; Introduction to gas flow in microchannels; Rarefaction effects; Introduction to microfabrication: micromachining, photolithography, and soft-lithography. Differential course fee will be assessed.
