ENGL 5996R - Scholarly Project

A capstone option course used for research projects that fulfill the comprehensive exam requirement of the English MA. This course is focused on scholarly reading and writing for Literary Studies and Rhetoric & Professional Writing students not wanting to do the longer thesis but also wanting to be prepared to apply for doctoral programs—or who simply enjoy research and writing. This project has a maximum of 20 pages and includes the creation of 3 reading lists of 8-10 items—one list per each committee member. The culmination of the project is an exam discussing the paper and reading lists. Every semester. A maximum of 3 credit hours can be used towards the degree.
