MUS 3020 - Counterpoint

An introduction to contrapuntal techniques including an overview of Renaissance-era species counterpoint and a survey of tonal counterpoint. Analysis of selected musical works and guided composition of contrapuntal exercises. Spring semester alternate years or as needed. Prerequisites: MUS 2710 or department head approval.
