HHP 4250 - Obesogenic Envrionment


(3) Credit Hours

This course is designed to explore the interactions among a range of individual, behavioral and environmental determinants of obesity with a focus on socialecological risk factors. Topics include physical activity, nutrition, media, policy and other factors associated with obesity. Extensive discussion on the implications of and interactions among these risk factors for the development of obesity will be included. Additionally, approaches for prevention and control will be discussed as well as effective interventions to address obesity and its determinants including program and policy development and implementation. Prerequisites: HHP 3030  or department head approval.
