ETCM 3240 - Construction Structures (3) Credit Hours
Principles of structural components and their behavior related to building structures. Types of building structures include concrete foundations, structural steel, pre-engineered metal buildings, and precast concrete structures. Includes purpose, structural elements, stress patterns, shear, and soil bearing mechanisms. Study includes reinforced concrete, formwork, wood framed and steel buildings. Fall and spring semesters. Prerequisites: ETCM 2020 or department head approval. Differential course fee will be assessed.
