HHP 1050 - Adventure Tourism (3) Credit Hours
This course is designed to provide an introduction to the concepts of travel and tourism, with a focus on outdoor and adventure destinations. Participants will spend the majority of the class in the field, exploring Chattanooga’s natural beauty and experiencing why Outside Magazine named us the #1 outdoor city in America. Topics will include: tourist profiles and motivations, market analysis, alternative tourism types, and host community development. This course will involve multiple outdoor trips (some overnight) and various adventure activities (i.e. boating, climbing, backpacking, biking, etc.).
