SOCW 3080 - Pre-Field Seminar I (3) Credit Hours
Pre-Field Seminar I is the first of a two course sequence in the foundation year. It offers students the opportunity to examine their attitudes and aptitudes toward a career in social work from a personal level. It also encourages and promotes evaluation of concurrent social work classes from an intrapersonal as well as academic perspective. Students will enhance core qualities such as self-knowledge, critical thinking skills and effective oral and written communication and respect for diversity. Students will also begin developing foundation knowledge in leadership principles in social work. Prerequisites: Admission into the Social Work Program or department head approval.
