CRMJ 4200 - Family Violence and Criminal Justice (3) Credit Hours
This course provides an in-depth examination of family violence. For the purposes of this course, family violence is considered to include three types of violence: child abuse, intimate partner violence, and elder abuse. The course focuses on the nature and consequences of each type of family violence, as well as explores theoretical explanations for these forms of violence. Further, the course will examine the current criminal justice and social services system response to family violence. Prerequisites: CRMJ 1100 or completion of the social science general education requirement, or department head approval.
