NUTR 4300r - Trends in Nutrition (3) Credit Hours
This course will introduce current trends and topics in nutrition that are emerging in the field such as informatics, nutrient/drug interactions/ food biotechnology, whole food/plant-food based and other “diets”, food allergies, public health, nutrigenomics, nutrigenetics, older adult nutrition, pediatrics, medical terminology, pharmacology, work site wellness programs, and other. This course will also explore how these trends and topics impact the field of nutrition and the critical skills needed by the dietetics professional to work effectively in her/his career. May be repeated for a total of 6 hours. Dietetics majors only and senior standing, and/or department head approval.
