SOC 3140 - Research Methods
(3) Credit Hours
The nature of the scientific method and research as applied to the collection, analysis, and interpretation of social and cultural data. An introduction to selected basic techniques in research and the preparation of research proposals. Fall semester. Prerequisites: A statistics course (SOC 2500 recommended), SOC 1250 or SOC 1510 or ANTH 1000 or ANTH 1200 , or department head approval. Pre or Corequisites: ENGL 2830 or department head approval.May be registered as ANTH 3100 . Credit not allowed in both SOC 3140 and ANTH 3100 .
