Analysis of how urban areas grow and are spatially organized. Examination of the cultures, social stratification systems, and modes of governance in contemporary American cities. Emphasis on urban problems. Prerequisites: SOC 1250 or SOC 1510 with a minimum grade of C or department head approval.
