NURS 2220 - Women’s Health Issues


(3) Credit Hours

A review of current literature and discussion of issues affecting contemporary women’s health. The course will introduce the biological, psychological, social, economic, and cultural factors which affect the health of women in Western society. Students will be challenged to examine their attitudes on controversial issues such as birth control, childbirth alternatives, abortion, women’s self image, and aspects of aging. Open to non-majors. On demand. Prerequisites: ENGL 1020  or department head approval. May be registered as WGSS 2220 . Credit not allowed in both NURS 2220 and WGSS 2220 . Differential course fee will be assessed.
