NUTR 3400 - Nutrition Education: Principles and Practice (3) Credit Hours
Overview of theories and methods related to health behavior and health education as it applies to food and nutrition. Addresses motivation/compliance of individuals with health regimens; methods of education for the adult learner; sociological, cultural and psychological influences in food nutrition behaviors; and marketing of nutrition and food information. Learn practical guidelines for different types of hands-on nutrition education activities, including food demonstrations, grocery store tours, and cooking classes. Prerequisites: NUTR 1350 with a minimum grade of C or department head approval. Nutrition minors only. Laboratory/studio course fee will be assessed.
