HHP 4610 - Understanding and Addressing Health Disparities in Urban Communities (3) Credit Hours
This experiential course provides students with the opportunity to assist with implementing and evaluating an evidenced-based, community-engaged physical activity program designed to combat health disparities for urban elementary-aged children residing in an underserved community. Also, an emphasis will be placed on uncovering the major physiological mechanisms for health disparities. Prerequisites: HHP 3170 and (HHP 3100 or HHP 3700 ), a minimum 2.5 GPA. Junior or senior standing; HHP major or related pre-health major or department head approval.
