NURS 4800 - Nurs Systems VII: Concepts of Community Health


(6) Credit Hours

This course examines the paradigms and practices of public health nursing and community as patient within Orem’s Self Care Deficit Theory of Nursing. Concepts of practicing nursing in settings outside the hospital are introduced and current issues in public health are explored. Every semester. Lecture 4 hours, laboratory 6 hours. Prerequisites: NURS 4410 NURS 4420 , and NURS 4450  , or major, RN-BSN  or department head approval. Corequisites: NURS 4850 , NURS 4560 , and NURS 4570 , or department head approval. Supplementary course fee assessed. Differential course fee will be assessed. Standard letter grade.
