MATH 4250 - Modern Algebra I

Groups, subgroups, quotient groups, homomorphisms, simple groups, solvable groups, group actions, Sylow theorems and the fundamental theorem of finitely generated abelian groups. Prerequisites: MATH 2200 and MATH 3000 with minimum grades of C or department head approval. Credit not allowed in both MATH 3250 and MATH 4250.
