A study of the potential use of biological systems in the remediation of areas contaminated with toxic pollutants. Lecture 3 hours, laboratory 3 hours. Prerequisites: BIOL 3060 and BIOL 3350 and BIOL 3250 with minimum grades of C; and BIOL 4220; and CHEM 3010; or department head approval. Corequisites: ESC 4430L or department head approval. May be registered as BIOL 4430. Credit not allowed in both ESC 4430 and BIOL 4430. Laboratory/studio course fee will be assessed.
