BIOL 4520 - Limnology and Reservoir Ecology


(3) Credit Hours

Chemical, physical, and biological processes in lake and reservoir systems (nutrient budgets and cycling, hydrodynamics, phytoplankton/ zooplankton/benthic dynamics, and physical similarities and differences in lakes and reservoirs). Lecture 2 hours, laboratory 2 hours. Prerequisites: BIOL 3060, BIOL 3250 , BIOL 3350, CHEM 1110, and CHEM 1120, all with minimum grades of C, or department head approval. Corequisite: BIOL 4520L or department head approval. May be registered as ESC 4520. Credit not allowed in both BIOL 4520 and ESC 4520. Laboratory/studio course fee will be assessed.
