BIOL 4220 - Principles of Microbiology

(4) Credit Hours

The biology of prokaryotic microorganisms and their interactions with humans including clinical, industrial, and environmental aspects. An introduction to viruses is included. Lecture 3 hours, laboratory 4 hours. Credit not allowed in both BIOL 2100 and BIOL 4220. Prerequisites: BIOL 3250 with a minimum grade of C; CHEM 1120 and CHEM 1120L; or department head approval. Corequisite: BIOL 4220L or department head approval. Laboratory/studio course fee will be assessed.
