PMBA 5040 - Economics for Decision Makers 3 Credit Hours
The goal of this course is to acquaint PMBA students with the primary concepts of economic analysis. The course will cover basic micro- and macro-economic concepts such as how markets work (supply and demand diagram analysis), gains from trade, market failures (externalities), effect of demand and supply elasticity on government policies, the Federal Reserve, aggregate demand and long/short-run aggregate supply, and the influence of monetary and fiscal policy on aggregate demand and supply. Open to PMBA majors only. Credit allowed in EMBA 6040 or ECON 5010 only with approval of the department head. Standard letter grade. Differential course fee will be assessed.
