MATH 1010 - Mathematics in Our Modern World (3) Credit Hours
An introduction to the nature and techniques of mathematics for nontechnical majors. Applications of mathematics to the solution of historical and modern problems will be discussed. Topics include the mathematics of finance, the laws of growth, graph theory and management science, the mathematics of social choice and voting schemes, and introductory probability. Students who have not recently taken a mathematics course or who have a MATH ACT score of less than 19 are strongly advised to complete USTU 1050: Foundations of Mathematics before enrolling in this course. Laboratory/studio course fee will be assessed.
