ETEM 4530 - Value Engineering


(3) Credit Hours

Introduction to concepts of Value Engineering and demonstration of the application of techniques to maximize the value in a product, process, or service while minimizing cost. Topics include functional analysis, functional costing, generation of alternative designs, evaluation of alternative designs, proposal preparation and presentation. Project required. Prerequisite: ENGR 3520 with minimum grade of C or department head approval. May be registered as ENIE 4530. Credit not allowed in both ETEM 4530 and ENIE 4530. Supplementary course fee assessed.
